MILWAUKEE, WISC. – Trusted Fraternal Life, a leading fraternal benefit society headquartered in Milwaukee, proudly announces the appointment of Portia Young to its Board of Directors.
Young brings a wealth of experience in corporate communications, brand strategy and community engagement. She currently serves as Director of Corporate Public Relations at Sargento, a $1.7 billion family-owned company based in Plymouth, Wisconsin. In her role, Young has elevated Sargento’s reputation through comprehensive media relations strategies, executive visibility initiatives and impactful storytelling aligned with the company’s core values. She also leads Sargento’s Employer Brand strategy, positioning the organization as a top workplace in Wisconsin.
Beyond her corporate leadership, Young is deeply committed to community service. She serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Foundation, Marcus Performing Arts Center, Habitat for Humanity of Milwaukee, and Seton Catholic Schools. Her dedication to service is complemented by an award-winning background in broadcast journalism, where she earned an Emmy and multiple Emmy nominations during her 14-year career in news.
Young holds advanced degrees from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and Integrated Marketing Communications program. She resides in Milwaukee’s north shore area with her husband and two daughters.
