Catholic United Financial > Company > Media Release > First Gather4Good® event of 2019 reaches goal

For Immediate Release: June 10, 2019

PINE CITY, Minn. – Catholic United Financial thanks the more than 130 volunteers who achieved the goal of 2,000 assembled care kits on June 9th at our Gather4Good® event. Catholic United staff also want to thank Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Pine City and the Immaculate Conception Catholic United Parish Volunteer Team for their support and behind-the-scenes activity to make the event a success.

Photos and video of the event can be viewed on the project’s website: www.gather4good.org.

Volunteer Angela Forsman said, “This was my first Gather4Good event. All I can say is, ‘Wow’. It was so amazingly organized and fun.”

The assembled kits were delivered to several charities, social agencies and public schools for delivery into the hands of people struggling with the effects of homelessness, abuse and poverty. Our charities partners included Pine and Lakes Community Action Council, Family Pathways, A Place for You Shelter and Hinckley Finlayson Public Schools.

Representatives of these charities report the kits they receive and distribute provide families with items that are desperately needed yet often overlooked. Ensuring a person can meet basic hygiene needs, like brushing their teeth and washing up, provides individuals the chance to focus on larger issues like housing, job skills and healthy lifestyles.
