Hundreds of Volunteers Unite in Milwaukee for First-Ever Trusted Fraternal Life Fraternal Celebration

On Friday, September 26, hundreds of volunteer leaders from across the Midwest will gather at Milwaukee’s Baird Center for the first-ever Trusted Fraternal Life Fraternal Celebration.

Four legacy fraternal organizations—Catholic Financial Life, Degree of Honor, Woman’s Life and Catholic United Financial—will unite as members of Trusted Fraternal Life. These grassroots leaders are the people behind hundreds of pancake breakfasts, brat frys, coat drives, church picnics, park cleanups, and more—the micro volunteer activities that keep small-town communities thriving.

This event celebrates the unsung heroes of small-town America—volunteer leaders who make community life possible. Without them, many of the everyday acts of service that knit communities together simply wouldn’t happen.

Amid declining volunteerism and negative headlines, their gathering in Milwaukee is both historic and hopeful: proof that service still matters—and that it’s happening on Main Streets across the Midwest. In fact, as part of the event, members will assemble more than 2,000 personal care kits to benefit local Milwaukee charities: Hope House, Milwaukee Rescue Mission, Cathedral Center, Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative and Catholic Charities.

Key speakers at the event will include:

    • John Borgen, President & CEO, Trusted Fraternal Life

 Featured National Speakers:

    • Becca Stevens — Nonprofit Leader & CNN Hero
    • Jimmy Yeary — Grammy Award-Winning Songwriter
    • Jean Chatzky — Personal Finance Expert, Founder & CEO of HerMoney Media, and Host of HerMoney with Jean Chatzky
    • Matt Havens — Generational Leadership Expert

Entertainment Guests:

    • Colin Cloud — Mentalist
    • Charlie Berens — Comedian and Emmy-Winning Journalist

In the past year, Trusted Fraternal Life members contributed nearly 110,000 volunteer hours and raised more than $2.2 million for local causes. For many of these volunteers, this gathering is the only time they are thanked and recognized on a national stage.
