Why do I need life insurance?

Life insurance is about love. A life insurance policy guarantees
that the most important people to you will be provided for if you
are no longer there.

Life insurance:

  • protects your way of life
  • can replace lost income when a loved one passes
  • can be the foundation of a family financial plan
  • More...

When do life insurance needs change?

  • Family change such as birth, death or divorce
  • A change of employment or career
  • After a major purchase, like buying a home or business
  • A child moving out or going off to college

What else can life insurance do for me?

  • help pay for your final expenses
  • protect your assets
  • make a charitable gift
  • build wealth and save on taxes

Ten reasons not to have an estate plan

Posted by

Sponsored by the Catholic United Financial Foundation

by Robert Heuermann, Executive Director, Catholic United Financial Foundation

You might be one of the millions of American adults without an estate plan. What's your reason? Maybe yours is on this list:

  1. I don't plan on dying. Or at least I don't want to think about it.
  2. I don't plan on dying—at least not soon. So I don't want to talk about it.
  3. I don't see the need for an estate plan. I plan to spend it all before I go.
  4. I don't want to pay for it. Penny wise but pound foolish.
  5. I don't want to spend the time. I am too busy to die.
  6. I don't want to talk about my family. This will mean decisions I don't want to make.
  7. I don't want to talk about my money. I am embarrassed by what I have or don't have.
  8. I don't want to ruin my kids. They need to find their own way.
  9. I don't trust my kids. If they know what to expect from me, they will not work as hard.
  10. I just don't care. I have more important things to worry about.
Ouch. Does this list convince you that your reason for not having an estate plan isn't much of a reason at all? We can help you review your assets and prepare your plan for your lawyer or tax preparer, a possibly save you money. Contact your local Sales Representative today or contact the Catholic United Financial Foundation for ideas on charitable giving in your estate plan.
